"Nuclei" or "Layer" is the fourth level down in brain organization, and the first
above the Cell Type level. These terms refer to the near final level of brain
place organization (some large or very complex nuclei or layers may have still
more detailed discriminable organization, into sub-nuclei  or sub-layers). Most
Circuits  are described in terms of connections between nucleus or layer places.
