Physicians are busy. Probably an understatement but an important detail when trying to bring them together. A physician's life is a balance between promoting our patients' physical and mental health without hurting our own. Home life and work life leave little room for things like social media. So in order to bring physicians together online, one must offer a practical service in addition to the fun stuff.
PingerWare is developing IllumiDoc to address these needs. Through medical media sharing, note-taking, continuing medical education, consultation, and more, we provide the physician with online tools that improve his or her daily practice. A physician can log on with little fear of interrupting work flow. By doing this, IllumiDoc provides a kind of online base station from which physicians can reach out to other physicians both clinically and socially. Working and living on IllumiDoc does not fill the physicians day up with more stuff. It helps them streamline their time by providing easy access to information while still allowing them to be the social people that they are. In addition, because IllumiDoc is more about sharing and education and less about promoting and advertising, networking is not limited to a particular branch of medicine or a geographical/political boundary. One can share images and consult with physicians around the globe and within any specialty.
IllumiDoc is the answer to the busy physician who wants to integrate learning and networking with his or her daily practice. Dr. Byron Fergerson is the inventor of the concept of IllumiDoc and working with PingerWare to bring to reality.

Primary content are images and videos organized in a fascile manner so as to present timely material to the clinical audience for comments and reviews. Diagnostic Suite is different from YouTube because it has more vetted material that is uploaded by credentialed professionals and less to do with either non-professional or reviewed material or material that is commercial or promotional in nature. Material needs to be completely HiPAA complaint with tools during the upload process to scrub patient identification information.
